About the speaker:
Professor Niamh Moloney joined the LSE in January 2009. Previously she was Professor of Capital Markets Law at the University of Nottingham and Reader in Law at Queen's University Belfast and held lectureships at the University of Nottingham and University College London. She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (LLB) and Harvard Law School (LLM). Her primary research interests are EC financial services law (she is the author of the first book on the EC's regulation of financial markets, EC Securities Regulation (Oxford University Press, second edition, 2008)) and retail investor protection. She is also a Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute.

Niamh's main research interest is to explore the EC's regulation of financial markets and services from institutional, substantive, and contextual perspectives. She is also interested in the EC's harmonization of company law.

Niamh is a Series Editor (with Professors Eilis Ferran and Howell Jackson) of the Cambridge University Press Series International Corporate Law and Capital Market Regulation, an Editorial Board member of the European Business Organisation Law Review and Dublin University Law Journal, and Consultant Editor to the EU Company Law chapter of D Vaughan and A Robertson, Encyclopedia of EU Law (Oxford University Press). She was also an Editorial Consultant on Corporations and  Partnership and Finance and Investment to the New Oxford Companion to Law (Oxford University Press, 2009).

Niamh was the UK Reviewer  for the European Corporate Governance Institute/Shearman and Sterling/ISS 'One Share One Vote' study for the EC Commission and has acted as a consultant for Oxford Analytica.
